About the office

A parish microcredit desk, still at the starting line.

Runaway Bay P.O., St. Ann. The company is a startup. It is not incorporated in this story as a finished lender, and it is not licensed.

J&B is being built for salaried workers in St. Ann who need a modest sum between paydays — school fees, a medical bill, a repair — without guessing what the loan will cost. The plan is a trusted parish office first, then more branches over about five years if the book stays healthy. The planning capital is J$3,000,000: J$2,000,000 as a lending pool and J$1,000,000 for the first year of operations. Facilities above the usual range, up to J$500,000, are selective. They are not offered to every applicant, and they are not sized against the whole pool.

Say the number

Amount, weeks, fee, and instalment are on the page before anyone sends a form.

Fit the pay cycle

Weekly, fortnightly, or monthly. The loan should match how the wage actually lands.

Keep the book small

A planning pace of about 50 loans a month. Growth is a five-year idea, not a rush.

Who sits where

The staff demo signs in as Admin, Loan Officer, or Cashier. A full office would also roster Front Desk and a Secretary. The public site does not name a private individual.

Licence

The business plan is to pursue a Bank of Jamaica Microcredit Licence under the Microcredit Act 2021. Until that licence exists, J&B must not trade as a licensed lender. This website is a product demonstration prepared so the owner can see the public pages and the office tools together.
